Help a Letterpress Apprentice!
There’s only 32 hours left to go in the Letterpress Apprentice crowd sourcing campaign organized by book artist Robin Price. Price started the apprenticeship with the idea of passing on the skills she has learned as a book artist with 25 years experience to a talented and promising artist who would work with her in her studio. The artist selected for the apprenticeship (which we hope is one of many to come) is Brittany De Nigris, whose work at the Art Farm Residency in Nebraska investigating perception, light, movement, and shape should produce startling results when incorporated into the book form. So far, the campaign has raised $7,080.00 of its $22,000.00 goal. The funds will be used to provide the apprentice with a stipend, accounting for her hours in the studio as well as visits to book fairs and conferences across the nation. We applaud Price and Nigris on a campaign which seeks to nurture the art and lineage of producing artist’s books using modern crowd sourcing resources. You can follow De Nigris’s progress in the studio on her blog and contribute to their campaign at Indigogo.
